Gollum

Creative Pro Ages 9 to 12 · Lots of detail Level 4/5

Tested by kids aged 9 to 12

This haunting portrait captures Gollum with his characteristic large, bulging eyes and wrinkled, skeletal face frozen in a sinister grin. His bony fingers stretch forward from beneath a dark robe, creating a menacing yet oddly pitiful expression. The detailed linework of his weathered features and prominent ears brings this tragic creature from the depths of Middle-earth to life.

Coloring tip

Start with Gollum's skin in pale gray or sickly green tones to capture his otherworldly appearance, then use deep blacks and dark grays for the eye pupils and shadows on his face to emphasize those haunting expressions. Leave the robe almost entirely black for strong contrast against his pale, wrinkled features.
